Hello!!
We started out the week
on Monday with sooo much rain... not even kidding... it rained hard. It was
fun! We got splashed by so many cars!!!
| Rain gear! Excited because she didn't see rain when she was on the coast in Perú |
We have exciting news this week! Two
converts are going to the temple to do their family names!!! They’re going
tomorrow.
| Investigator working on Family History |
Also, President Douglas gave Hermana Jameson and I permission to go
to the temple with other converts. We are planning a trip before the end of the
change (transfer)!!! Yesterday was great... Frine and her daughter Ivette came
to church. Frine was burned very severely about 4 months ago. Healing has been
a struggle. But she is always so happy. Yesterday
she came to church for the first time in a long time! She looked so pretty in
her Sunday clothes!!!

This week we had interviews with President Douglas.
AMAZING. He is called of God.
There is a song I
love and part of it says, “in a song or a dream or the beauty that surrounds me,
I feel the tender mercies of the Lord.” Prayer is a gift from Heavenly Father.
We can call upon Him whenever we need. In the bible dictionary it says that God
is willing and wants to bless us, but He can’t if we don’t ask. It’s like we
have an umbrella up shielding us from the blessings raining down on us. If we
pray and close our umbrella and close the doubts and fears, the blessings will
rain down onto us.
3 Nephi 18 19-21:
19Therefore ye must always pray unto the Father in my name;
20And whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my
name, which is right, believing that ye shall receive, behold it shall be given
unto you.
21Pray in your families unto the Father, always in
my name, that your wives and your children may be blessed.
In Ether 12 faith hope
and charity are means by which we can bless others and strengthen our own
faith.
Scriptures: (just couldn’t
change the spelling of Nephi, her Spanglish is just special)
3 Nephi 1: 11And it came to pass that he went out and bowed himself down upon
the earth, and cried mightily to his God in behalf of his people, yea, those
who were about to be destroyed because of their faith in the tradition of their
fathers.
1 Nefi
21: 14But, behold, Zion hath said: The Lord hath
forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me—but he will show that he hath
not.
15For can a woman forget her sucking child, that
she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget ,
yet will I not forget thee, O house of Israel.
16Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my
hands; thy walls are continually before me.
1 Nefi
22: 10And I would, my brethren, that ye should know that all the
kindreds of the earth cannot be blessed unless he shall make bare his arm in
the eyes of the nations.
11Wherefore, the Lord God
will proceed to make bare his arm in the eyes of all the nations , in bringing
about his covenants and his gospel unto those who are of the house of
Israel.
12Wherefore, he will bring
them again out of captivity, and they shall be gathered together to the lands
of their inheritance ; and they shall be brought out of obscurity and out of
darkness ; and they shall know that the Lord is their Savior and their
Redeemer, the Mighty One of Israel.
I love this gospel and I’m
very grateful for the opportunity I have to be here in Perú! Hermana Jameson is
the best, seriously! I hope I can be a good missionary like her someday soon!
She is a great example to me!!!
Love,
Hermana Bott
Miracle
of the week we lost Hermana Jameson’s
wallet and we said a prayer and we found it about 3 minutes later... the power
of prayer.
(thanks Hermana Jameson for helping Em get pictures to us! We LOVE them!)
