Hi Family!!! Well I hope you are having an amazing time in Canada and in the East. Enjoy seeing Gods beauty because it is literally all around!!
Well announcement!! kind of a sad one. Hermana Bond had an emergency transfer to Chorrilllos because another hermana got transferred out so now its just hna Murrillo and me. Im going to miss Hermana Bond a whole lot but I feel at peace that it is what God wants at this time. I enjoyed our hard working 7 weeks together. I felt like Hermana Bond and I worked and taught really well together. She taught me so much about love, patience, enjoying life, happiness, joy, hard work, obedience... so much. I love her tons and know she will do super great in Chorrillos. fun fact she is in the same area i was in when i was in chorrilllos! Las Villas! Its a great area! Really pretty!
The Temple dedication was amazing! We are so blessed here in Peru. Everytime another temple is dedicated Satans power is weakened and Gods power is strengthened!! I love Peru and I especially love the Peruvians!!!
So this week was good! We had a ton of family history lessons. We have a few families going to the temple this week. There was one family that came in and they told us a little bit about their conversion. I felt the spirit so strongly bearing testimony of the restoration of the gospel and that families can be together forever!! The whole family (fam of 4) were baptized in febuary of 2015. They found the church because the dad is a taxi driver and a member from the US is working here and started talking to him about the church in the taxi because the dad was listening to Cristian music. The dad said he had been searching for the truth but didnt know where to find it. Sounds a lot like Joseph Smith. James 1 5. I know that families can be eternal IF they live the doctrine of Jesus Christ. Heres a few scriptures I have been sharing in our lessons that I really like from D and C. DC 138 30-33, 47-48. DC 109 22-26
Iris will be baptized
this Saturday! She is super ready!
D&C 20:37
37And again, by way of commandment to the church
concerning the manner of baptism —All those who humble themselves before God, and
desire to be baptized, and come forth with broken hearts and contrite spirits,
and witness before the church that they have truly re pented of all their sins,
and are...
So we planned with President
Douglas this past week and he talked a little about the difference in 2 types
of missionaries. The first is elder red the other is elder green. Elder red is
a little grumpy, doesn’t really want to be here, is negative, always has hard
areas (which really hard areas don’t exist, its only attitude, my opinion) sees
with carnal eyes. Elder Green is happy, willing, humble, cheerful, has
miracles, walks with angels, has the spirit, sees with spiritual eyes.
So, they are companions,
the same area everything is the same yet they have 2 completely different
experiences. I sent a diagram and a pic to try to express my thoughts. Hopefully
you can understand.
So, then fast forward a
few days and then I saw a real life version of an Hermana Green. Its Hermana
Bond. When president called us on Friday night to say she was having an
emergency transfer because one of the other Hermana’s had to leave her area she
accepted it. He said I know this isn’t easy but are you willing to do it? She
said yes of course and she did it with a smile and didn’t complain once. In 2 Nephi
31:10 it says can we follow Jesus unless we are WILLING to keep his
commandments or in other words do His will. Hermana Bond always strives to do
God’s will and as she does she has the spirit.
I loved what Pres.
Eyring said about the pure love of Christ (charity) he said that it is that we
want to do what God wants and do His will. By doing His will we have pure
motives and want to bless God’s children.
I love the Gospel. I
love the atonement. I’m so grateful for Christ and His Atonement. I know that
the doctrine changes us. I love you all!
Love
Hermana Bott
