Hello!!
Happy Groundhogs day! No I did not know it was groundhogs
day.... Hermana Nielsen did... hahaha....
Ok so this week was a week full of MIRACLES. In all caps! It
flew by! We went to the temple and had 13!!!!!!!!! (They had 13 from Ayacucho
go to the temple in Lima. Itis a 10 hour bus ride on switch backs) That is huge
from Ayacucho. It was amazing to see the sacrifices they all made! And my mind
was about to explode! Literally trying to get 13 Peruvians to the temple from Ayacucho
is CRAZY!!

But, they were all there on time and happy even after the 10 hour
bus ride at night! So, each one again, just as the last trip had their own
personalized trial. But, they all conquered it with the help of the Atonement.
But, there is one cute family whose journey to the temple was very sweet to me.
They are from Alameda they are named Julio and Ivett. They were baptized a few
months ago. They don’t have very much money and have one small daughter with
one on the way. From the moment they came in they had the temple in their
sights and as a goal. They began a temple jar and saved up money since November.
They were an example of sacrifice to me. I am so grateful for the experiences
we had this past week.

I truly saw the enabling power of the Atonement lifting
us to more than we could be!!! The temple is amazing! When we got to the temple
in total we did 70 names!!!!!!!! One of the ladies named Carla said it was
amazing when she was inside. She felt so peaceful. It’s true the temple is the
House of God. This morning I was reading about the temple! In true to the faith
it says the home is the only place that can compare to the temple in
sacredness. It really hit me. How important it is to have a clean and happy
house.
I love Doctrine and Covenants 88:118-119.
118And as all have not faith, seek ye diligently and
teach one another words of wisdom ; yea, seek ye out of the best books words of
wisdom; seek learning, even by study and also by faith.
119Organize yourselves; prepare every needful thing;
and establish a house , even a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of
faith, a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of order, a house of
God;
It’s true. I was reading a talk by Elder Bednar called Seek
Learning by Faith and a quote in it he says faith in Christ is inextricably
tied to and results in hope in Christ for our redemption and exaltation and
assurance and hope makes it possible for us to walk to the edge of the light
and take a few steps into the darkness expecting and trusting the light to move
and illuminate the way. The combination of assurance and hope initiates action
in the present. The faith that fuel this ongoing process develops evolves and
changes us. Our confidence waxes stronger line upon line, precept upon precept,
here a little there a little!
More on the temple from true to the faith! All we do in the
Church our meetings and activities, our missionary efforts, the lessons we
teach, and the hymns we sing should point us to the Savior and the work we do
in the holy temples.
We are not the light...Christ is the light. But, He allows
us to grow closer to Him.
Mathew 10:20
20For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your
Father which speaketh in you.
I love the temple and I know that the work and the covenants
we do there help us to understand our purpose here and to become true disciples
of Christ. The work IS hastening here and on the other side of the veil. I love
you all tons!
BTW, tomorrow in the morning at 4:30 we are leaving Ayacucho
for Lima by PLANE!! We are super excited for this adventure! We have a meeting
for family history on Tuesday then I will be with Hermana Rush in her area
until Wednesday. Then we have concilio (transfers) on Wednesday and then we
come back by bus on Wed night! I’ll have transfers this Saturday so I’ll let
you know next week where the Lord sends me! Love you tons!!! Faith truly moves
mountains!!
Miracle of the Week! Getting 13 people from Ayacucho to Lima
safely!!!
Love,
Hermana Bott
