Miracle of the
week! Hermana El (A member) came with us. Please pray
that we will strengthen our relationship with the members so they will want to
come proselyting with us. We can’t do it without them. I love you!!!
I have prayed more here than ever before. I see
the Lords hand in my life every day! My Spanish is getting better. I have
started getting my R’s yaya!!! And at first I could not understand a thing but
now I have started understanding more it’s awesome. My Heavenly Father loves
me. I struggled emailing last week. I am very happy to be here.
This
has been a fantastic week!!! Last p-day we went to the beach in Mala and played
ultimate football and threw eggs at each other!! It was so much fun! I had egg
everywhere!!! Then the elders kept throwing them after the game was over haha
so I had my first official spa here in Peru. I love the people here!!! Seriously
they are amazing! hna Jessica is the branch pres. daughter and she came proselyting
with us until Friday when she left for Lima for school. But she will be back on
Sunday to visit! Yay! We have had to clean our investigators out because they weren’t
progressing. Pres. Douglas wanted us to focus on praying to find las escogidas,
or the elect and that the elect be families and adults, because that is who the
foundation of the church needs to be built on. It’s easy to baptize children
and harder to baptize families but they will last longer. So every single
prayer this week I prayed to find the elect. And guess what, we found a
lot!!!!!!! It has been an amazing tender mercy from the Lord. On Thursday night
we contacted in the street down by our apartment and we found so many families
which have the Light of Christ in their eyes and have amazing potential. Last
night Hna El, (she is a member and has been a member for 3 years and is so
strong. She was born to be a missionary!!!!) helped us contact so many people. She
is like 45 or 50 and is seriously amazing. She is so happy and bubbly and knows
literally EVERYONE in Cañete. So, pray that we will have successful lessons
this week. We have a lot of nuevo investigadores (new investigators) this week
and want them to progress!!! On Thursday we had a multi-zone meeting with Pres.
Douglas. We learned more about obra salvation which is using the members and missionaries
here together to increase the work of salvation. Here, it is hard for the
people to retain their membership so we are working with them. The members
though are awesome. Oh ya, we had a great lesson with keti and alex, they are
not married but have a cute daughter that is like 2 and we had the restoration
lesson in a members home, Hno and hna Cast.’s house, and we ate homemade
popcorn. Oh so yummy!!!! It reminded me of grandma Petersen’s when I was little
and she would pop us popcorn in a big pan!!! So good! Anyway, the lesson was
good. We watched a movie of the restoration and they are so strong and
recognize they have the desire to change. The restoration is so important
because it is what sets us apart from any other church. The Doctrine of Christ
will baptize people but the Restoration will convert them. Right now I’m
working on learning to teach the restoration better. I have the first vision
memorized in Spanish!!!!!!! It’s awesome and so powerful!!!! The 2 most
important parts of the restoration are the apostasia and the restauracion
because without the apostasy there would be no reason for a restoration. Because
Heavenly Father loves us, he restored His gospel. That is why I am here, in Cañete, to
share this, to serve, serve, serve, and to love, love, love. 1 nefi 3: 7
is so true. Heavenly Father doesn’t give us any commandment unless he allows a
way to accomplish it. I know this Gospel is true and Heavenly Father loves all
of us. I love it here and wouldn’t be anywhere else in the world. The center of
Cañete is awesome it has parks all around and is so
pretty.
Some things you should
try eating this week, I enjoyed them
1 caywa (we think she means Causa) rellena (potato dish)

2 melon drink. its just

3 smoothie with carrot, pina, papaya, lemon, condensed milk

going to dormido leon it’s a beach I think not sure

Hermana Bott
